2015 CONFERENCE

Pure Food:

Biological constants and cultural manifestations of a human preoccupation.

In 2015, the ICAF conference was held at the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg, Delmenhorst, Germany, from 6^th to 9^th October.

The conference was hosted by the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK) in comfort and with delicious meals.  We are most grateful to that institute for their generosity. Wulf Schiefenhövel, Helen Macbeth and Dorothe Poggel co-organised the conference, supported greatly by Marion Daniel and others of HWK.

Papers which seemed so diverse from their titles had many linkages with other papers leading to a fascinating conference with plenty of time for the discussions, which were friendly and cooperative, providing exchange of ideas and new perceptions about the topic.  Excursions included a visit to a ‘Permaculture’ garden, a farmers’ market, Bremen’s anthropological museum, its City Hall and a walk around the city.
