Λουκάνικα με Πατάτες Γιαχνί (Loukanika me Patates Yiahni - Casserole of pork sausages and potatoes)*

2 sausages, 15 cm long
4 potatoes
3 onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves
120 cc. olive oil
2 tablespoons tomato paste or purée
1 cinnamon stick
salt and pepper to taste
0.5 l. of warm water

Remove the skins of the sausages, leaving the contents as sausage meat. Heat the olive oil in a pot. Brown the sausage meat with the onion and the garlic in the oil. Peel the potatoes and cut them into slices, about 2 cm wide. Put the potatoes in the pot with the sausage mixture. Add the tomato paste, the salt, the pepper, the cinnamon and the warm water.

Cover the pot and let it cook at a low temperature for about 45 minutes, or until the potatoes become soft. Serve hot.
